Position Summary :
This is a senior level position as a Project Director in support of the National Rehabilitation Information Center (NARIC). The primary responsibilities of the project director are planning and oversight of project activities and budget, administration of contracts and deliverables, and management of staff, including performance reviews and scheduling.
Required Qualifications :
- Bachelor's degree in a business or technical field, or equivalent experience.
- 10 years of experience, training, or education in library and / or records management, including acquisitions, subscription management, cataloging and indexing, and reference staffing.
- Familiarity with and knowledge about National Institute on Disability Independent Living and Rehabilitation Research (NIDILRR) grant programs and funding mechanisms and the disability, independent living, and rehabilitation research landscape, which is part of the information to be obtained and managed in the NARIC databases.
- Experience and expertise in using industry standard thesauri for indexing and categorizing disability and rehabilitation information, such as the World Health Organization's International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health (ICF) or the National Library of Medicine's Medical Subject Heading (MeSH).
- Prior experience in managing and maintaining databases for disability and rehabilitation research literature and other related informational products such as blogs, newsletters, and research summaries for both internal management and public distribution
- Established networks with other established dissemination professionals and organizations, including library science professionals and organizations.
- Must be proficient in MS Office Suite.
- Excellent writing and oral communication ability.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple duties simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
- Ability to work both independently and as a member of collaborative teams.
