What are the responsibilities and job description for the Head Varsity Football Coach position at Blackford County Schools?
Expectations:
- Mentor, guide, and nurture student-athletes by Connecting, Influencing, and Achievement (C.I.A)
- Oversee and lead the Football programs from K-12.
- Abide by all IHSAA, Blackford County Schools, and Central Indiana Conference policies and procedures.
- Be visible in the BCS community and be supportive of all BCS activities.
- Plan and execute daily/weekly practice plans accordingly.
- Communicate effectively with administration, student-athletes, and parents.
- Assist with organization and inventory of athletic equipment.
- Maintaining and updating accurate program information including rosters and statistics.
- Ensuring sportsmanship within the program by student-athletes and coaches.
- Providing a positive atmosphere for student-athlete growth and development of individual skills, teamwork, and personal improvement.
Qualifications:
- CPR certification (preferred for head coaches)
- Prior head coaching experience (preferred for head coaches)
- Strong communication skills
- Effective coaching techniques and skills
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with administration, staff, colleagues, student-athletes, officials, parents, etc.
