Position Summary
The Assistant Golf Professional assists the Director of Golf Operations & Head Golf Professional in the management of day-to-day golf operations of the facility. All duties of the position shall be performed with a commitment to the highest level of member service and total satisfaction of all members and guests.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
- Assist with golfer check-in and fee collection; control and manage play.
- Assist with all opening and closing procedures.
- Assist in tournament operations and weekly events including planning, pre-tournament contracts, post-tournament billing, promotion, course set-up, preparation, scoring, prize distribution, and follow up
- Assist in “organizing” the golf shop during shop hours (folding of clothes, cleaning workspace)
- Assist in quarterly inventory of the golf shops.
- Conduct individual lessons and group clinics.
- Assist with men’s, women’s, and junior golf events and programs.
- Provide club fitting services to members.
- Conduct oneself in a professional manner and always maintain a professional image.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
- High School Diploma or Equivalent (required).
- Previous Golf Experience: 1-2 years of experience in golf operations, retail, or as a golf instructor.
- PGA or LPGA Membership (preferred but not required): Candidates working toward PGA Associate status or other professional golf certifications are encouraged to apply.
- Strong Golf Skills: Solid playing ability and knowledge of the game, with experience teaching beginners and intermediate players.
- Customer Service Skills: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a focus on providing outstanding experience for members and guests.
- Knowledge of Golf Course Operations: Familiarity with course management, tee sheet coordination, and event planning.
