POSITION SUMMARY:
Blackhawk Country Club is seeking an experienced line cook to help prepare food using recipes and menu items created by the Head Chef. The ideal candidate will have 3-4 years of kitchen and restaurant experience, with a strong emphasis on culinary expertise and kitchen operations. Experience with pizza oven operations is a plus. The Cook will be responsible for assisting in food preparation, cooking menu items to perfection, maintaining kitchen cleanliness, and ensuring adherence to food safety standards.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
· Assisting with stocking and setting up the kitchen stations.
· Preparing food including cleaning, cutting the ingredients, and cooking main dishes, desserts, appetizers, and snacks.
· Plating foods based on senior chef's guidance.
· Working with the expo and servers to ensure that orders are completed according to request and are on time.
· Washing and cleaning the kitchen, cooking utensils, and storing the equipment at the end of shifts.
· Ensuring that the kitchen operation procedures and hygiene meet food safety standards and regulation.
· Assist in food preparation and cooking according to established recipes and standards.
· Operate kitchen equipment with precision and safety, including grills, fryers, ovens, and pizza ovens.
· Ensure all food products are cooked and presented to high-quality standards.
· Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, including equipment, workstations, and storage areas.
· Follow proper food handling and sanitation procedures to prevent foodborne illnesses.
· Monitor inventory levels and assist in inventory management, including ordering and stocking supplies.
· Collaborate with kitchen team members to maintain a smooth and efficient workflow.
· Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and safety regulations.
Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES)
· 3-4 years of kitchen and restaurant experience.
· Proven culinary skills and ability to execute menu items with precision and consistency.
· Experience operating kitchen equipment and appliances.
· Strong knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
· Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
· Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks efficiently.
· Flexibility to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
· Pizza oven experience is a plus.
