Title: Platform Systems Engineer

Location; NYC and Tristate area - Open to remote if not local to NYC or Tristate area.

Position Summary:

The Platform Systems Engineer will be responsible for designing, deploying, and maintaining Linux-based systems, developing and enhancing monitoring platforms, and integrating APIs. The ideal candidate has a strong background in Linux server deployment, scripting, programming, and web development, as well as experience with monitoring platforms. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure systems are scalable, reliable, and secure.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deploy, configure, and maintain Linux-based servers and systems.
• Develop and maintain scripts (e.g., Bash, Python) to automate deployment, monitoring, and other processes.
• Design and implement monitoring systems and platforms to ensure high availability and performance.
• Collaborate with development and operations teams to integrate APIs and develop scalable solutions.
• Utilize Git for version control and manage the development lifecycle.
• Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code in programming languages such as Java, Python, and web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript).
• Troubleshoot and resolve system and platform issues to minimize downtime and improve reliability.
• Stay updated on emerging technologies and industry best practices, recommending and implementing improvements where applicable.

Required Skills & Experience:

• Linux Expertise: Strong knowledge of Linux server administration, deployment, and troubleshooting.
• Scripting & Programming: Proficient in Bash and Python; experience with Java and web development.
• Version Control: Strong understanding of Git and collaborative workflows.
• Monitoring Systems: Hands-on experience designing and maintaining monitoring platforms (e.g., Prometheus, Nagios, Zabbix, or similar).
• API Development: Experience integrating and developing APIs for systems communication.
• Web Development: Solid understanding of web technologies, including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and web frameworks.
• Problem-Solving: Ability to troubleshoot complex system and application issues effectively.
• Communication: Strong interpersonal and written communication skills to collaborate across teams.
