SUMMARY: The Territory Development Representative is an entry level sales position providing career path opportunities into sales. This position provides the opportunity to develop many of the skills required to be a successful Account Manager while developing a territory to grow BlackHawk business.
ESSENTIAL COMPETENCIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Personally exhibits, recruits and coaches associates consistent with Core Behaviors
- Responsible for promoting culture of safety
- Manage existing customer relationships
- Follows through with customer to ensure satisfaction
- Identifies and prioritizes all existing and prospective customers within his/her territory and keeps mailing list current.
- Studies product information, attends seminars, works with suppliers on customer solutions.
- Present products to the customer
- Attends and contributes to local company sales meetings.
- Provides customers with all literature and promotional materials they need to enhance their productivity.
- Promotes BlackHawk ecommerce solutions to customers with the goals of generating ecommerce sales and promoting operational efficiency.
- Identify and qualify customers based on business potential to hand-off to Account Managers for on-going relationship management and growth.
- Provides Sales leadership with information from the market in regard to trends, new products, market share in existing and potential accounts.
- Proactively solve problems for customers
- Build and sustain positive customer relationships
- Responds to customer requests for technical support as needed
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Perform all work in accordance to ISO processes and procedures
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Proven ability to work independently with a self-motivated and proactive approach.
- Strong organizational and time management skills to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Disciplined in follow-ups, task management, and achieving goals.
- Excellent sales aptitude or sales experience with a track record of identifying and closing sales opportunities preferred
- Solid relationship-building skills with the ability to connect with customers and drive engagement.
- Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to learn new products and utilize promotional materials effectively
- Basic competency in using computers, tablets, and mobile devices. Microsoft office experience a plus.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- No direct supervisory responsibility. May provide indirect supervisory input.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
- High School diploma required
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred
- 2-5 years’ experience required in Industrial Distribution or similar fields
- Previous sales or customer service experience preferred
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
- Valid driver’s license
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Employee is regularly required to speak and understand English, stand, walk, sit, use hand to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms. Employee is required to use computer and other equipment.
- Employee frequently lifts and/or moves up to _50_ pounds. Specific vision abilities include close vision and the ability to clearly focus vision.
- Employee is regularly required to work independently with modest levels of supervision in a field territory

- Eye protection, ear protection, and as required by customer, steel-toed shoes and head protection.
