Position Title: Food Service
Location: Blackhawk High School
Hours: 9am-2pm
Reports To: Cook/Manager

QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Previous experience in foodservice preferred.
2. Interest in Food Handling
JOB GOAL: To serve the students attractive and nutritious meals in an atmosphere of efficiency, cleanliness, courtesy, and friendliness.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Assists in the preparation, portioning, and serving of food items per Cook/Manager's direction.
2. Assists in the daily clean up of kitchen and service area.
3. Assists in the rotating of stock and utilization of leftovers.
4. Prepares and serves food in accordance with safety and sanitation regulations and portion control standards.
5. Keeps accurate records of stock utilized, portions served, lunches sold, or other records per job routine.
6. Cashiers daily.
7. Works in dish room or washes pots as directed by Cook/Manager.
8. Informs Cook/Manager or FSD of equipment malfunctions or other problems interfering with a smooth foodservice operation.
9. Follows rules for foodservice personnel for daily work performance, including dress code and courtesy.
10. Completes all other duties as assigned by the Cook/Manager.
JOB SPECIFICATION:
1. Physical Demands:
- Moderate to heavy lifting, 15 to 40 pounds
- Frequent walking throughout kitchen
- Frequent transporting of items, 15 to 40 pounds, throughout the kitchen
- Handling and transport of hot items
- Standing for extended periods of time
- Frequent bending, stooping, twisting, reaching and grasping
2. Temperament:
- Must be courteous and able to deal effectively with adults and children
- Must be cooperative, congenial, and service oriented
- Must be able to work effectively amidst frequent interruptions
3. Cognitive Ability:
- Ability to work as a team member
- Ability to complete assigned tasks with little or no supervision
- Ability to organize and prioritize to efficiently accomplish necessary tasks
- Ability to communicate effectively
SPECIFIC SKILLS:
1. Ability to learn how to use various equipment including ovens, fryers, steamers, dish machine, cash register, donut maker, meat slicer, washer and dryer and slush machine. Routines are provided for each specific assignment and times vary based on assignment.
Compensation & Benefits:
- Wage: $10.98/hour as per the current Educational Support Personnel Professional Association’s CBA.
