Overview
The Part-time Paramedic Instructor teaches credit courses within the Associate of Applied Science Paramedic Technician program at the Central Campus in Janesville WI. Position reports directly to Administrative Chair of Human and Emergency Services. Duties include teaching courses that prepare a student to advance to a paramedic position and related occupations. This position will collaborate with employers to develop, maintain, and upgrade curriculum in the areas of paramedicine and CoAEMS accreditation.
Provide instruction for Paramedic Technician courses as assigned.
Engage in ongoing student learning assessment in the Paramedic Technician to determine effectiveness of instruction and curriculum. Use data to measure program outcomes related to student persistence, retention, completion rate, course success, and to design improvement strategies based on the evidence.
Remain current on best practices in the teaching field so that instruction is delivered for a variety of learning styles, uses the latest supportive technology, and utilizes alternative delivery methods. Develop curricula, assessments, and lab projects to improve student success in a multitude of delivery modalities.
Manage classrooms and oversee the lab to ensure a safe and productive learning environment.
Maintain accurate student records and reports as requested by administrative offices.
Identify students needing assistance and refer students to Student Services.
Create a classroom environment that is respectful of diversity and demonstrates a commitment to multiculturalism.
Assist faculty chair and dean in other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Paramedicine or related field.
Two (2) years (4,000 hours) of paramedic work experience of which at least one-year (2,000) hours shall be within 5 years prior to date of appointment.
Wisconsin Certified Instructor II or ability to obtain WI Instructor II within 6 months of hire.
Wisconsin Paramedic License or ability to acquire Wisconsin Licensure.
Current NREMT Paramedic Certification.
American Heart Association BLS/ACLS/PALS Instructor Certification.
