Responsibilities:
- Lead mechanical design of machines and tooling to meet specifications, focusing on reliability, safety, and simplicity.
- Utilize and improve standard components in designs to meet applicable standards.
- Ensure designs are cost-effective and require minimal engineering time.
- Coordinate with project engineers and team members before the build phase.
- Provide necessary documentation to customers for approval and final delivery.
- Obtain competitive quotations and manage procurement for long lead-time items.
- Estimate and adhere to engineering hours and project budgets.
- Collaborate with shop personnel during the build, startup, and debugging phases.
- Support service technicians during machine startup at customer locations.
- Stay updated on industry trends and incorporate new technologies into designs.
Qualifications:
- B.S. or M.S. in Mechanical Engineering.
- 3-5 years of experience in machine tools or a related industry.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and Microsoft 365.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Willingness to work hands-on and travel domestically and internationally.
