Position: Emerging Maritime Technology Analysis and Assessments

Market Competitive Pay and Benefits

Summary: Emerging Technology Analysis and Assessments professionals design technology assessments, data, and conduct analysis for DoD. This position will require travel (15-20%).

Areas of expertise

  • Broker collaboration between government leaders, partner companies, intelligence community, and military elements to understand objectives, identify relevant data and metrics, and execute assessment activities.
  • Sets parameters and requirements for data to be gathered; validates collected data through statistical testing and independent judgement.
  • Selects computational or data manipulation methods to be used in research and analysis; applies validation and testing models to data.
  • Leverages experience conducting military and/or intelligence-related maritime operations in the context of national security and global competitions and conflicts.
  • Drafts and implements time and cost formulas to plan, control, and review large projects.
  • Based on data analysis, assists with and/or creates, develops, and implements follow on evaluations and assessments.
  • Prepares and distributes or delivers reports that identify, explain, and evaluate problems and available solutions.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Education

  • Bachelor's or master’s degree in a STEM major, technical writing, or business disciplines.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Understanding of military and intelligence operations in the maritime domain, to include oceanic, littoral, and inland waterway contexts.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Strong Technical writing experience.
  • Ability to self-research and problem solve.
  • Self-sufficient and resourceful, and able to work independently and take ownership of the project.
  • Ability to present to leadership.
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize tasks.
  • Ability to support or possibly lead a team.
  • Synthesize data into a coherent report.

Desired Experience:

  • USG, intelligence community, or DoD familiarity; ideally with operational experience in conflict or contingency operations OCONUS (clandestine or open/attributed)
  • Experience working with classified information in classified environments
  • Unmanned systems, artificial intelligence, and/or advanced technical communications experience.
  • Experience in the defense innovation ecosystem with exposure to a broad array of pathways in the Adaptive Acquisitions Framework and/or Intelligence Community analogues.
  • Experience working with military test and evaluation range environments, to include non-standard or low-profile venues.
  • Engineering/computer science/data analytics background or experience leveraging expertise in these areas.

  • MUST BE A U.S. CITIZEN
  • Top Secret DoD Security Clearance with SCI eligibility is required to perform this work. Ideally will have an active Top Secret clearance upon hire. Consideration for those with lower clearances will be afforded for candidates with exceptional talent/skill/attribute profiles. All candidates must have the ability to maintain a clearance during employment.
  • Must pass any testing requirements.
  • Individual must accept and meet all program standards and guidelines.
  • Individual should possess reasonable interactive and social skills.
  • Ability to work alone in a fast-paced environment.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read in English to analyze and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, government regulations, and procedure manuals. Ability to write in English for routine reports and correspondence.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to solve practical problems by defining the problem, collecting data, establishing facts, and drawing valid conclusions. Ability to apply common sense.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Must have a valid driver’s license issued by state of residence.

Sit or stand for periods of time. Other physical demands included must be able to lift up to 40 pounds at times.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The work environment is 50/50 virtual (remote) and on-site, to include time in a Secure Compartmentalized Information Facility (SCIF) or other office work environment.
Training will be provided for unique assessment and technical documentation requirements.
