About this role About this role: BlackRock’s Global Credit business manages ~$115 billion in assets across high yield, leverage loans, CLOs, middle market private debt, opportunistic and distressed strategies. With funds dedicated toward both public and private opportunities, we seek to achieve attractive risk-adjusted returns across a variety of strategies and geographies. The Global Credit team leverages the depth and breadth of the platform to create differentiated offerings for clients and increasingly collaborates with clients to deliver customized investment solutions spanning the credit spectrum. The Blackrock Alternatives (BA) Core Portfolio Management team (“Core PM”) is responsible for implementing investment decisions across BA product, while also providing oversight of BA’s governance model and adherence to BlackRock investment best practices. We are seeking a dedicated professional to join the Liquid Credit Core PM team focused on overseeing the ongoing management of credit mandates and collaborating with teams across the platform, including investment professionals, product strategists, and business operations to deliver differentiated target outcomes for our clients. Responsibilities Run portfolios to reach alpha targets within risk tolerances and constraints, while following client/fund guidelines and restrictions Raise orders to implement and maintain portfolio positioning. Work with Trading to monitor execution. Monitor and invest cash flows resulting from client subscriptions and redemptions. Monitor cash balance to ensure appropriate level of cash is kept across portfolios Ensure that portfolios are in compliance with their investment guidelines and quickly raise and resolve potential issues Enhance portfolio management processes. Develop and implement tools to aid in portfolio construction and reporting via automation/coding. Learn and keep current in credit markets. Participate in market and alpha generation discussions. Assist in market research efforts. Coordinating with different teams (investment, client relations, etc) ensure smooth onboarding process and account activation for all new mandates and generating reports and analysis for client queries Provide insight on operational and portfolio management as we onboard new portfolios. Knowledge/Experience: Experience or knowledge of portfolio management or related roles such as portfolio research, risk management, compliance and operations, or trading, preferably related to fixed income portfolios Knowledge of Aladdin tools a plus Strong organizational skills and is able to handle a multitude of request concurrently Qualifications BA/BS required. Progress toward CFA a plus. 0-3 years of experience and knowledge of Fixed Income markets strongly desired. Fixed income and general finance knowledge, including an understanding of bond math and risk. Ability to learn fixed income markets, including complexities of different issue types, liquidity, and trading. Ability to grasp quantitative concepts of risk and exposure, and their application to portfolio management. Technical skills including advanced Excel and Aladdin. SQL and programming experience a strong plus. Proficient in programming language (VBA/Python) and handling large datasets Ability to adapt quickly to changing market environments and perform under tight time constraints. Strong analytical, interpersonal and problem-solving skills with attention to detail. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. For New York City only: The salary range for this position is $118,750 - $140,000. Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, and benefits including heath care, leave benefits, and retirement benefits.
