BlackRock’s Fixed Income team manages more than $1 trillion in global fixed income assets across index, active long-only, alternative, and liability driven strategies. The platform offers fixed income investors one of the industry's broadest arrays of investment choices across model-based and fundamental investment styles.
Within BlackRock Global Markets, BlackRock’s Global Trading organization operates with the goals of enhancing trading standards across asset classes, streamlining, and leveraging counterparty relationships, attracting, and retaining top trading talent in the industry, and developing a One BlackRock culture around trading activities.
The Global Systematic Execution team is seeking a Trader that will support the scaling and automation of trade workflows across Global Trading. The candidate will be responsible for the refinement of existing and developing new trading processes to help increase efficiency and unlock smarter pathways to additional liquidity, with eventually trading fixed income products.
You will have the opportunity to liaise with the full range of global trading desks, internal PM teams and broader BlackRock partners to deliver innovative and scalable solutions from the trading function. This will include interaction with Aladdin developers and strategic engagement with our 3rd party vendors, including those from the rapidly changing e-trading marketplace.
What will you be doing?
- Code in multiple programming languages to design and deploy innovative solutions for complex problems in Global Trading.
- Use technical skills to ensure the accuracy of large analytical data sets, automate processes with scripts and efficiently query information from multiple databases.
- Learn how to trade multiple asset classes; and manage orders and trade flow in a logical risk-controlled manner with a high sensitivity to fiduciary responsibilities.
- Deal with day-to-day administrative issues in support of trading activities and liaison with trading operations
- Be a ‘Student of the Markets and Technology’ by following the global markets to understand how macro-economic factors can affect the analytics and harness the technology to solve critical problems.
- Must obtain Series 7 and 63 within 1 year timeframe.
What are we looking for?
- Degree(s) in relevant subject such as Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, Information Technology, or related technical program
- Solid Python, C , SQL, Java and database proficiency. Software development skills, including knowledge of computer architecture and compiler languages a plus!
- Excel, PowerBI proficiency, knowledge of Tableau and Smartsheet a plus
- Familiarity with applied AI skills for finance practices, machine learning, data analysis, market research and data modeling
- Strong interest in global capital markets, specifically with reference to Global Fixed Income products
- Must be adaptable and comfortable working in an entrepreneurial environment
