Are you passionate about teaching in Career and Technical Education? The Montgomery County School Board in Virginia is now accepting applications for a Career and Technical Education (CTE) Drafting, Engineering, and Drones teacher position that is available at Blacksburg High School for SY 2024-2025.  This position requires the teaching of dual enrollment coursework. This is an immediate opening. 

 PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

To develop and implement an instructional technology and engineering education program based on current industry standards and state curriculum that will prepare students for employment or further education. 

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

• Hold or be eligible for a Virginia Teacher’s License with the appropriate endorsement to teach dual enrollment courses in the appropriate subject areas
• Possess a Master’s or higher level degree with relevant field coursework 
• Possess Project Lead the Way certification or willingness to complete coursework to obtain the certification 
• Hold a remote Pilot License or willingness to obtain the license
• Have experience or training in areas related to CTE
• Develop and implement effective lesson plans and curriculum materials
• Possess the ability to effectively assess student learning and use results to plan and implement appropriate instruction
• Integrate technology into classroom instruction to enhance learning
• Utilize Google Drive for instructional purposes, collaboration, and managing coursework
• Create and maintain an inclusive, supportive learning environment that respects the diverse backgrounds and needs of all students
• Communicate effectively with strong written, verbal, presentation, and interpersonal skills
• Engage and collaborate effectively with students, parents, and families
• Collaborate with other teachers and contribute to a positive team environment
• Demonstrate dependability, punctuality, and reliability in fulfilling responsibilities

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Have a Master's degree or higher degree in Engineering 
• Experience working with any CADD program
• Previous public school secondary education teaching experience 

SALARY:  $57,973.76 - $90,755.96 annually, with benefits; commensurate with experience and prorated to start date

FLSA Status: Exempt
