INSTRUMENTAL MUSIC TEACHER/BAND DIRECTOR
2025- 2026
The Montgomery County School Board, Virginia, is now accepting applications for an Instrumental Music Teacher/Band Director position that may become available at Blacksburg Middle School for the 2025-2026 school year.
Primary Responsibilities:
Implement and deliver instruction for a music program that will effectively provide the best possible education for each student.
QUALIFICATIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Hold or be eligible for a Virginia Teacher’s License with appropriate endorsement to teach Instrumental K-12 Music
- Fulfill responsibilities outside of the classroom (such as concerts, instrumental performance opportunities, district music events and fine arts events) as they relate to the school music program
- Possess knowledge and experience in curriculum development
- Demonstrate experience or working familiarity with Google Drive for instruction, collaboration, and coursework
- Possess skills and expertise in using technology in education
- Cultivate and foster an inclusive learning environment
- Exhibit effective written, verbal, presentation, and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrate the ability to work effectively with parents and families
SALARY: $50,072.26 - $83,120.04 annually, with benefits; commensurate with experience (salary may change based on 2025-2026 budget considerations)
