BlackSky is looking for a visionary Creative Director to lead creative brand strategy and design standards while overseeing creative execution, including web, event, print and digital design plus video. In this role, you will shape the visual identity and creative direction of our brand. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including marketing, communications, product managements and product development to ensure that all creative outputs align with brand pillars and objectives. This position reports to the Senior Director, Marketing and is open to candidates near our Herndon, VA, or Seattle, WA offices. Remote candidates will also be considered.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for design including brand identify and visual communication to include print (including PowerPoint), digital and video.
• Lead the creative vision for all marketing campaigns, branding initiatives, and product designs.
• Oversee the creative process from concept through execution, ensuring high-quality and impactful outputs.
• Maintain consistency of the brand across all platforms and ensure all creative outputs adhere to brand guidelines, while evolving and maintaining brand guideline standards and communicating across internal stakeholder teams.
• Present and communicate creative concepts to internal stakeholders and leadership teams.
• Stay up to date with industry trends and best practices to keep creative work fresh and relevant.
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail and meeting deadlines.
• Evaluate and improve creative processes for maximum efficiency and quality.
• Manage third-party vendors for design, video, web design, photography and more.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Advertising, Marketing, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
• At least ten years of experience designing creative solutions.
• At least five years of experience of in a high growth, technology environment.
• Previous experience in the defense and intelligence industry.
• Previous experience managing external vendors to produce on deadline and at brand specifications.
• Experience working with UI/UX design and content creators to develop a robust visual communication program.
• Mastery of with design software such as Adobe Creative Cloud, Photoshop, InDesign and PowerPoint.
• Exceptional abilities in typography, layout, and prototyping.
• Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate creative concepts to non-creative stakeholders.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think strategically while executing creatively.

• Previous experience within the space/satellite industry.
• Experience with satellite imagery.
• Experience with photography and photo editing.

The anticipated salary range for candidates in Seattle, WA is $150,000-$160,000 per year. The final compensation package offered to a successful candidate will be dependent on specific background and education. BlackSky is a multi-state employer, and this pay scale may not reflect salary ranges in other states or locations outside of Seattle, WA.
