Position Title: Assistant DFAC (Dining Facility) Manager
Location: Fort Benning, Georgia
Position Overview:
The Assistant DFAC Manager supports the DFAC Manager in overseeing all aspects of dining facility operations at Fort Benning. This role is essential to ensuring smooth day-to-day service, upholding military food service standards, and assisting in the supervision of personnel, resources, and logistics. The ideal candidate is organized, dependable, and able to lead in the absence of the DFAC Manager.
Key Responsibilities:
- Daily Operations Support:
Assist in managing daily food service operations, ensuring meals are served on time, and all systems run efficiently.
- Team Leadership:
Supervise and guide kitchen and dining staff. Provide direction and coaching to maintain productivity, morale, and teamwork.
- Compliance Monitoring:
Help enforce adherence to sanitation regulations, safety protocols, and military food service guidelines.
- Inventory & Supplies:
Support inventory tracking, food and supply ordering, and proper storage procedures to reduce waste and maintain quality.
- Staff Scheduling:
Assist in creating and managing work schedules, ensuring proper staffing coverage for each shift.
- Customer Interaction:
Respond to service concerns or feedback professionally and promptly to maintain satisfaction and uphold standards.
- Administrative Duties:
Maintain daily logs, prepare reports, and assist in timekeeping, training records, and documentation.
Qualifications:
- Experience:
At least one year of supervisory or lead-level experience in a high-volume food service setting or military dining facility.
Skills:
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively
- Working knowledge of food service operations and regulations
Certifications:
ServSafe certification or the ability to obtain it upon hire.
Work Ethic:
Dependable, adaptable, and able to lead in a fast-paced environment.
Additional Information:
This role may require evening, weekend, and holiday shifts. Relocation assistance is available to help with your transition to Fort Benning. Applicants should be prepared to work in a structured, mission-driven environment and support the DFAC Manager in all aspects of facility success.
