Job Title- TechnicianThe external and internal appearance of a building reflects on the occupants. It is important for a custodian, or janitor, to be careful and thorough in cleaning and tidying the premisesThe ideal candidate will be experienced in a custodian role focused on building upkeep. A keen eye for detail and diligence are imperative in custodial maintenance jobs.ResponsibilitiesEnsure spaces are prepared for the next day by taking out trash, tidying furniture and dusting surfacesSweep and mop floors and vacuum carpetsWash and sanitize toilets, sinks and showers and restock disposables (e.g. soap)Detailing Bathrooms and Office spacesWipe mirrors and windowsReport major damages and oversee repairsSecure facilities after operating hours by locking doors, closing windows and setting up the alarmUndertake occasional custodial and janitorial tasks.SkillsProven experience as custodian, janitor or in a similar roleKnowledge of use and maintenance of industrial cleaning equipment and appliancesKnowledge of safe disposal of chemical liquids and other hazardous componentsFamiliarity with basic landscaping and handyman practicesAttention to detail and conscientiousnessVery good physical condition and strengthHigh school diploma is preferred but not required.
