Cost Accountant

Essential Functions: 

• Enters, analyzes, and categorizes cost entries based on GAAP rules. 
• Records purchases, analyzes freight costs, and investigates and reconciles discrepancies with vendors. 
• Oversees physical inventory. 
• Performs month-end cost accounting close. 
• Maintains cost accounting system and cost ledger. 
• Plans, studies, and gathers data to determine costs of business activity, such as purchases, inventory, freight labor, and other overheads. 
• Collects and analyzes data and documents results. 
• Analyzes changes in product design, raw materials, manufacturing methods, or services provided, to determine effects on costs. 
• Provides management with reports specifying and comparing factors affecting prices and profitability of products or services. 
• Other duties as assigned. 

Requirements

• BS degree in Accounting 
• Accounting experience preferred
