Starting at $25/hour DOE
Essential Functions:
- Obtains proposals and quotes from vendors and negotiates for best value and works with Procurement and Accounts Payable to issue purchase orders and payments.
- Identifies cost effective solutions in all activities, while maintaining quality and timeliness.
- Participates and supports planning, construction, start up, remodel, relocation, move, and closure of facilities.
- Coordinates with EHS Manager for compliance with OSHA and ADA.
- Coordinates space planning, supply needs, and other activities with Facilities Manager, Engineers, and/or Landlords as needed.
- Assists in rework projects as needed, with potential Supervisory role.
- With direction of a manager to coordinate and direct the activities in a unit/area of facilities maintenance services to ensure facilities are properly cleaned and maintained, maximizing a healthy, safe, pleasant, and functional environment.
- Maintains building lighting by replacing incandescent bulbs and fluorescent tubes, deflector covers, and cleaning fixtures.
- Removes snow and ice from all exits, entrances, fire escape exits, and handicap ramps.
- Initiates and tags work orders for repair and maintenance.
- Performs all duties and tasks assigned by a supervisor or Manager such as attending trainings and participating in development teams.
- Ensures proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies; promotes continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices.
- Assists in the training of part-time employees.
- Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
- Performs direct labor and maintenance duties as a working member of the team.
- Enforces proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and tools.
- Promotes continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices.
- Promotes personal safety of crew members by monitoring, evaluating, and enforcing safe behaviors.
- Trains and informs crew members of proper safety guidelines, policies, procedures, and behaviors.
- Coordinates all events and major or minor projects, including deep cleaning, without interfering with residents or occupants of office space.
- Travel and help other members of the team when needed.
- Works with internal and external customers to ensure that their needs are being met and works to continuously improve the system.
Requirements
- 5 years experience with Maintenance
- 3 – 5 years of HVAC or Electrical or Plumbing Experience
- Heavy Equipment Operator
- Basic hand tool/power tool knowledge
- Good driving record
- Knowledge of how to use/handle trailers (hitching, transporting, etc.)
- Basic carpenter skills
- General knowledge of small motors and ability to service items
- Painting skills
- Able to set up and monitor construction projects
