Role Summary

We are seeking a dynamic Machine Learning Engineer to contribute significantly to the automotive field through the application of machine learning and deep learning techniques. This role is not just academic; it involves the practical integration of your innovative modules into real vehicles, while ensuring testability and safety standards are met. You will thrive in a setting that offers autonomy and a chance to navigate through uncertainty, generating groundbreaking projects that can propel our industry into the future.

Key Responsibilities

Machine Learning Development :
Enhance and maintain current machine learning modules essential for autonomous vehicles.
Design and implement new machine learning approaches aligned with existing frameworks.
Stay updated with the latest academic research and technological advancements in the field.
Collaborate with engineers at the ICC as well as colleagues in Germany to develop cutting-edge autonomous driving software.
Actively transfer technologies and solutions to the Volkswagen Group’s development divisions.
Process Documentation and Representation :
Create detailed technical specifications and documentation.
Represent the Volkswagen Group at technical communities and conferences.

Qualifications

6 - 8 years of professional experience is preferred

4 years of experience in Deep Learning is preferred

Education Requirements :

Master's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent.

Education Desired :

PhD is strongly preferred.

Skills

In-depth knowledge of various machine learning algorithms.

Required Skills :

Deep Learning : Proficiency in deep learning techniques and tools.

Machine Learning : Comprehensive understanding of traditional machine learning algorithms and applications.

Computer Vision : Expertise in object detection, image segmentation, and recognition techniques.

Natural Language Processing (NLP) : Skilled in NLP techniques such as sentiment analysis and language understanding models.

Neural Network Architectures : Deep understanding of architectures such as CNNs, RNNs, and Transformers.

Reinforcement Learning : Familiarity with reinforcement learning algorithms and their applications.

Data Preprocessing : Proficiency in data cleaning, feature engineering, and augmentation techniques.

Model Training and Tuning : Experience in training and optimizing AI models effectively.

Model Deployment : Knowledge of deployment techniques including Docker and Kubernetes.

Documentation : Strong skills in documenting model architecture, code, and processes.

Desired Skills :

AI Ethics : Awareness of ethical considerations in AI, including bias and fairness.

Legal and Regulatory Knowledge : Understanding of AI-related legal and regulatory aspects, including data privacy and intellectual property.

Data Management : Proficiency with data storage solutions, including databases and data lakes.

Cloud Computing : Familiarity with services from cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP.
