The Opportunity
This role is critical to the company’s continued growth and drive toward being the best vertically-integrated operation in the Massachusetts market. Reporting to the COO and taking instruction from the Lab Lead, the Extraction Laboratory Technician will be responsible for carrying out daily tasks within the laboratory. This includes running the CO2 extraction machine, wipe film distillation unit and solventless equipment. The Extraction Laboratory team will also be responsible for filling and capping vape cartridges using semi-automated VapeJet filling and capping machines. The primary focus of this position is to run the lab equipment within the guidance and schedule provided in order to produce high quality cannabis concentrates. Candidates must have a strong entrepreneurial and ownership mindset and a desire to contribute to the continued success of a rapidly growing business. What you’ll do
Operate the various cannabis extraction equipment to create high-quality cannabis concentrates
Follow SOPs for safe and efficient use of the equipment.
Maintain a clean and organized workspace
label and package finished products to be ready to sell through wholesale or our store
Identify any existing bottlenecks in the extraction & post-extraction process and look to improve them
Perform visual quality inspections on products with regularity; focus on waste minimization and reduction as possible
Maintain and comply with state sanitation and safety standards
Utilize proper labeling & tracking to ensure that the facility is compliant with OSHA, MED, METRC and state regulations at all times
Keep track of consumable supplies inventory ensuring things stay stocked
Work with and properly handle various chemicals (PPE Provided)
Record data throughout each stage of the extraction & post-extraction process in order to ensure accurate reporting, analysis, and projection for the Lab Manager
Occasionally assist the Kitchen in the production and packaging of edibles

Skills & Qualifications
High School Diploma/GED required, 2 years or more of post high school education desired
At least 1 year of Cannabis Extraction experience required
Must have the drive and ability to thrive in a demanding, fast-paced environment.
Possesses a high level of critical thinking and attention to detail.
Energetic team player, willing to take direction and learn new skills.
Proficient with computer systems, software, and hardware common to cannabis laboratories.
Ability to perform basic arithmetic using various equations pertaining to the extraction process, including but not limited to product formulation and yield calculations.
Detailed attention to record keeping procedures, lab analysis results, and ability to adjust to improve performance.
The ability to strictly adhere to all necessary sanitation procedures to ensure the quality of our products
Attention to detail and organizational skills in order to manage multiple, concurrent work streams
Proactive and responsive, with strong written and verbal communication skills
Can pass criminal background checks typically required by state cannabis regulations
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time
Ability to work in a cold environment for extended periods of time (jackets provided)
Repetitive use of hands for grasping, pushing, pulling, cutting and fine manipulation
Ability to multi-task with excellent follow through skills
Ability to visually examine products for quality and signage/labeling accuracy
At least 21 years of age
