Job Description : As a Senior Electrical Engineer at BlackVe, Inc, you will be an integral part of our dynamic engineering team, responsible for designing, analyzing, and implementing spacecraft testing and test support equipment. The successful candidate will be highly experienced with a proven background in national security systems and spacecraft integration. This role requires a solid understanding of electrical engineering principles, hands-on experience with spacecraft electronics, and the ability to lead and invent collaboratively in a multidisciplinary environment. You will be required to assist in prototyping and operations support as we push innovations at speed for our customers. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in electrical engineering for aerospace and defense projects and a track record of delivering high-reliability solutions.

The position requires location in Albuquerque, NM.

Key Responsibilities

Electrical System Design : Lead the design, development, and validation of electrical systems and components for spacecraft integration, including power distribution, telemetry, communications, and command subsystems.
Integration and Testing : Oversee the integration and functional testing of electrical subsystems to ensure compliance with technical and regulatory requirements.
Requirements Analysis : Decompose, analyze, and translate complex customer and mission requirements into functional specifications and engineering requirements.
Troubleshooting and Issue Resolution : Identify and resolve electrical and integration issues throughout the system lifecycle, including design, assembly, and testing phases.
Technical Documentation : Develop and maintain detailed engineering documentation, including block diagrams, wiring schematics, interface control documents (ICDs), and test reports.
Technical Leadership : Mentor and provide technical oversight to junior engineers and project teams, fostering a culture of excellence and collaboration.
Stakeholder Communication : Interface with project management, customers, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure project alignment, communicate risks, and manage schedule and cost constraints.

Required Qualifications

Experience : Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in electrical engineering for aerospace, defense, or spacecraft integration.

Education : Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical field.

National Security Systems Experience : Demonstrated experience working on projects for national security or defense.

Technical Skills :

Proficiency in electrical design, integration, and testing for spacecraft systems.

Expertise with electrical engineering tools such as Altium Designer, LTspice, MATLAB, and other relevant software.

Strong understanding of space environmental considerations, including radiation, thermal constraints, and electromagnetic compatibility.

Preferred Qualifications

Advanced Degree : Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.

Specialized Experience :

Hands-on experience with national security satellite or space system programs.

Familiarity with high-reliability electrical components and radiation-hardened designs.

Available portfolio of successful space designs.

Soft Skills :

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, startup environment.

Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team.

Security Clearance : Must have the ability to qualify and maintain a Top Secret security clearance.
