Job Description : As a Senior Mechanical Engineer at BlackVe, Inc, you will be an integral part of our dynamic engineering team, responsible for designing, analyzing, and implementing spacecraft mechanical systems and structures. The successful candidate will be highly experienced with a proven background in national security systems and spacecraft integration. This role requires a solid understanding of mechanical engineering principles, hands-on experience with spacecraft structures and testing, and the ability to lead and invent collaboratively in a multidisciplinary environment. You will be required to assist in prototyping and operations support as we push innovations at speed for our customers. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in structural analysis techniques through all phases of a spacecraft lifecycle : test, launch and on-orbit deployments / environment.

Key Responsibilities
- Structural Analysis : Perform detailed structural analyses, including static, dynamic, thermal, and fatigue analyses, to ensure spacecraft components meet performance requirements.
- Mechanical Design & Integration : Lead the design and integration of mechanical subsystems for spacecraft, ensuring compatibility with other systems and adherence to mission requirements.
- Requirements Interpretation and Verification : Translate customer and mission requirements into engineering specifications and validate that designs meet these specifications through analysis and testing.
- Material Selection : Evaluate and recommend materials for mechanical and structural components, ensuring optimal performance, durability, and weight.
- Test Planning and Execution : Develop, oversee, and analyze results from structural testing, including vibration, shock, and thermal tests, to validate design robustness.
- Documentation and Reporting : Prepare detailed documentation, including analysis reports, mechanical drawings, interface control documents (ICDs), and testing procedures.
- Technical Leadership : Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior engineers, promoting best practices in structural analysis and mechanical design.
- Cross-functional Collaboration : Work closely with other engineering teams, program management, and customers to support project requirements and resolve technical challenges.
