This vacancy is a REPOSITORY of applications. Duties and responsibilities vary and may increase according to the grade level of the position. Because of the large number of applications anticipated, applicants' status will not be updated.Civil Engineer : Grades GS-11 through GS-15Applicant Expiration : Applications will expire 4 months after submission / resubmission. To remain eligible for consideration, reapplying is required.Duties may include but are not limited to : Performing operation and maintenance involving design and construction that encompasses the maintenance, repair, upgrade, and operation of infrastructure facilities, including utility systems, utilizing a professional knowledge of civil engineering.Monitoring / managing construction projects for new construction, renovations, and improvements to real property facilities from start to finish including the performance of preconstruction site surveys all the way to completion to as-built drawings.Providing civil engineering assistance on solving current job problems and in-shop planning.Preparing and / or providing technical review of design calculations, analyses, drawings, and specifications to ensure compliance with project requirements.RequirementsConditions of EmploymentUS Citizenship is required.Males born after December 31, 1959 must be registered or exempt from Selective Service.May be subject to a Background / Security Investigation. Degree : Engineering. To be acceptable, the program must : (1) lead to a bachelor's degree in a school of engineering with at least one program accredited by ABET; or (2) include differential and integral calculus and courses in five of the following seven areas of engineering science or physics.ORB.
