Description
The Marketing Technician will work closely with the marketing team to ensure all work aligns with brand guidelines and marketing objectives. The Marketing Technician is responsible for creating, scheduling, and posting engaging content across various social media platforms to build brand awareness, increase engagement, and drive traffic; capturing high-quality, visually engaging images of events and activities at the college for use in both digital (social media, website) and print marketing materials; and operating and maintaining copy machines, handling various copying tasks, sorting requests, and operating related machines like printers and binders.

Photography:
- Capture professional-quality images of college life, events, and settings, focusing on detail, lighting, and composition to showcase the college effectively.
- Edit and retouch images to enhance quality, correct lighting issues, and ensure a consistent brand aesthetic.
- Prepare images for print, ensuring proper resolution, color profiles, and file formats.
- Maintain and organize photography equipment, ensuring it is in good working order.
- Create visually compelling images for social media platforms, including educational imagery, lifestyle imagery, and promotional content.
- Create visually engaging graphics and marketing materials using Canva.
- Manage and enhance our social media presence across various platforms
- Monitor and analyze performance metrics to evaluate the success of marketing initiatives.
- Design graphics for print materials, using templates, ensuring alignment with brand guidelines.
- Operate high-speed copiers to create copies of various materials, including newsletters, transparencies, books, and presentations.
- Organize and prepare copy requests, ensuring materials are properly sorted and ready for reproduction.
- Fold, collate, trim, and bind printed materials as required
- Ensure the copiers are functioning correctly, which can include adjusting for paper types and other settings.
- Address minor issues or malfunctions with the copiers and perform routine maintenance.
- Receive and review digital design files, ensuring they are print-ready, making necessary adjustments as needed.
- Check printed materials for accuracy, color consistency, and overall quality before delivery or pickup.
- Maintain stock of paper, ink, and other printing supplies, ordering replacements as needed.
- Work closely with the marketing team to understand project requirements and ensure images meet their needs.
- Interact with faculty and staff to understand their printing needs, providing quotes, and explaining printing options.
- Update and maintain campus Yodeck monitors with graphics that align with brand guidelines, ensuring consistency in colors, logos, and visual identity.
- Update and maintain the campus marquee, creating graphics and messages to promote programs, events, and enrollment at BCC.
- Stay informed on industry trends and best practices as it relates to these duties.
Typical Qualifications

Required Knowledge and Skills
- Basic computer literacy and familiarity with operating office equipment.
- Demonstrated experience in photography.
- Proficiency in Canva and other graphic design tools.
- Strong knowledge of social media platforms and current digital marketing trends.
- Excellent communication and writing skills.
- Ability to follow instructions and work accurately.
- Attention to detail and ability to sort and organize materials.
- Strong customer service skills if interacting with customers.
- A self-starter with a proactive mindset for problem-solving and idea generation.
- Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently
High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate or Bachelor's degree in photography, marketing or a related field preferred.
Language Skills
Ability to read and interpret documents, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, and examinations. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively and professionally to students, faculty, or other visitors to the college. Ability to speak Spanish is preferred.
