An employee in this classification provides daily living assistance to senior citizen clients as assigned; performs related duties as required. Work is performed under general supervision and is evaluated on the basis of knowledge and demonstrated proficiencies, compliance with legal requirements and standards, and other performance criteria.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Provides daily living assistance for senior citizens in their homes, ensuring the maintenance of a clean and safe home environment.Performs all duties in compliance with the Care and Service Plan provided, as well as applicable laws, regulations, policies, procedures and standards of quality and safety.Assists clients with household and personal tasks, including but not limited to shopping for groceries, preparing meals, washing dishes, performing housecleaning duties, removing trash, making beds, laundering linens and clothes, ironing, mending clothes, paying bills, scheduling medical appointments, etc.Runs errands to pick up medicines and supplies.Monitors clients’ needs; notifies supervisor of any problems or issues encountered.Receives and responds to client inquiries, requests for assistance and complaints regarding areas of responsibility.Prepares records of daily work completed.Operates kitchen appliances and cleaning equipment; uses cooking supplies, cleaning supplies, small hand tools.Interacts and communicates with various groups and individuals such as the immediate supervisor, department head, co-workers, clients and their family members, and the general public.Performs related duties as required.
SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION
High school diploma or GED equivalent, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities. Special RequirementsValid state driver’s license.
