This position performs routine to moderate, complex accounting work for the County of Bladen Revenue Administration Department charged with collecting, posting, and disbursing receivables. This position provides a variety of information to the public regarding revenue collecting procedures, policy and methods. The Revenue Clerk receives, receipts, and posts tax payments and performs related duties as required.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
The candidate should know how to maintain cooperative and effective relationships with citizens and co-workers, requires good organizational skills, and knowledge of proper cash handling procedures and controls. The candidate should have excellent oral and written communication skills and knowledge of computer programs and software to include, but not limited to, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Access.
SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION
Graduation from high school and four years of experience in technical accounting, bookkeeping, or equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required skills, knowledge and abilities. Must have and maintain a valid North Carolina driver’s license with an acceptable driving record. Background check with local law enforcement and negative drug test are also required.In compliance with the Immigration Reform and Control Act of 1986, Bladen County will employ only those individuals who are US citizens, or legal aliens authorized to maintain employment in the United States.
