What are the responsibilities and job description for the Candy Store Clerk position at Blaine Boring Chocolates?
Purpose of this Job:
Responsible to perform the duties necessary to supply, sell, and distribute chocolate and candy products to retail customers and established accounts.
Essential Functions of the Job:
1. Work with an industrial-type mixer/folder to mix and create cream centers.
2. Work as a team member on the candy line; which entails working on one of many tasks including feeding candy into the line, coating the bottom with chocolate, coating the candy pieces with chocolate, and hand detailing.
3. Hand-boxing all finished candy pieces.
4. Folding all boxes by hand.
5. Using a sealing machine to seal the boxes of candy with saran wrap in preparation for distribution to outside vendors; correctly labeling all sealed boxes.
6. Responsible to hand make any special requests or specially ordered chocolate products.
7. Correctly operate the molding machine to keep the chocolate at the correct temperature in preparation for pouring it into the molds.
8. When properly trained, work as a hand dipper; properly pouring chocolate onto a slab, tempering it by hand, and creating the finished product by hand.
9. Hand coat all candy with cream centers and detail the top by hand.
10. All other duties as assigned
Equipment used in the Job:
Industrial type mixer/folder, conveyor system, candy molding machine, sealing machine, cash register, calculator.
Educational Requirements:
Minimum of high school education or General Equivalency Diploma.
Number of years Experience:
Previous experience is preferred but not required.
Reasoning Ability:
Addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, percentages.
Ability to identify discrepancies or potential problems.
Language Skills:
Ability to read and comprehend instructions and labels.
Ability to talk to others (internal customers/coworkers and external customers) to convey information effectively and professionally.
Typical Physical and Mental Demands of the Job:
Concentration, attentiveness, independent judgment, and discretion, manage multiple tasks, read and comprehend instructions and work orders. Must be able to see, hear, bend, stoop and reach, stand for long periods using hands, and lift up to 25 pounds manually.
Work Environment:
Standing for an entire shift, minus breaks and meal periods. Will be exposed to cooler temperatures to keep chocolate consistent.

Must be able to work in a team environment and communicate effectively with internal and external customers.
Must be service-oriented, looking for ways to assist people.
