We are seeking a dedicated Litigation Paralegal to be accountable to provide the best possible customer service to our clients and act as their advocate when working with third parties on their behalf. This is an ideal position for a genuine and hospitable individual with the skills to effectively communicate with individuals of all cultures and backgrounds. This role requires strong interpersonal skills where professionalism, confidentiality, and integrity are showcased. A successful candidate for the role will be highly organized as maintaining accurate case files and managing trial deadlines and litigation related meetings and depositions are primary day-to-day functions.
Essential Functions:
- Accountable to provide the best possible customer service to our clients and act as their advocate when working with third parties on their behalf.
- Maintaining confidential information
- Arranging and following-up with client care as needed.
- Accountable to ensure that all matters assigned are handled as quickly, accurately, and thoughtfully as possible from sign up through disbursal
- Drafting and filing pleadings
- Drafting and completing discovery
- Trial deadline management
- Scheduling litigation related meetings and depositions
- Drafting demands.
- Accountable to provide handling attorney support as requested and as outlined in CMS Tasks.
- Accurately gather and document activities in the firm’s database
Skills:
- Communicate: Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Must be able to draft professional letters that are free of grammar and spelling mistakes.
- Be Empathetic: able to deal empathetically with clients who are injured and scared, while still maintaining professionalism. Must be able to work as a team.
- Present Solutions: able to problem solve, follow instructions, be creative, use discretion, ask questions when necessary and be detail oriented.
- Be Honorable: Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality and display good judgment
Preferred Education & Experience:
- 5 years of legal assistant or paralegal experience preferred.
- College degree preferred.
- Competent Computer literacy: able to learn new programs quickly and accurately. Strong keyboarding experience.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times
