About the Position
We are looking for an experienced CNC Lathe Set-Up Machinist to join our team. The Setup Machinist is responsible for setting up and operating CNC lathes to machine tight-tolerance parts while adhering to quality and safety standards; keeping records, maintaining equipment and conserving supplies. This position requires excellent time-management skills, critical thinking abilities and close attention to detail. The ideal candidate for this job is someone with an easygoing, positive attitude who is able to work independently but also willing to take direction.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Accurately read and interpret drawings, sketches and other written instructions to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished part, sequence of operations and setup requirements.
- Setup and adjustment of feeds and speeds as necessary.
- Proving of programs on the machine; adjustment of offsets to meet print dimensions and tolerances.
- Effectively communicate with engineering and others to problem solve.
- Inspection of critical dimensions using standard metrology tools
- Maintain a clean and organized working environment.
- Work independently to manage time, schedule and prioritization with input from supervisor.
- Ask questions, clarify instructions and take constructive feedback in a professional manner.
- Other duties as assigned.
Experience and Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years machining experience.
- General knowledge of part fixturing and work holding
- Experience with HAAS machines is preferred.
Details
- Hours: Full-time, Monday – Friday, 7:30 am to 4:00 pm.
- Pay: Competitive salary, dependent on experience and skill level.
