What are the responsibilities and job description for the Quality Control Inspector position at Blair Engineering?
We are seeking a Quality Control Inspector to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail and a passion for ensuring high quality standards are met in our manufacturing processes. We manufacture complex industrial machinery and often are machining new parts for the first time. It is the responsibility of the Quality Control Inspector to ensure that all parts manufactured in house and all parts received from outside vendors meet our quality standards.
Required Qualifications:
- Proven experience in quality assurance and quality control.
- Minimum of three years experience using precision measuring instruments such as internal and external micrometers, pin and thread gauges, bore gauges, indicators.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data accurately
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills.
- Able to lift 50lbs and work on your feet for prolonger periods.
- Ability to package delicate parts for shipment to outside vendors and customers.
- Strong computer skills and experience with ERP systems, spreadsheets, and work processing software.
Duties:
- Maintain the internal Quality Manual and ensure that all quality procedures are followed through all stages of manufacturing.
- Receive and perform quality control inspections on incoming materials. Track material test reports to link finished product to specific material lots.
- Process incoming materials including cutting and deburring metal.
- Conduct inspections on the manufacturing floor for work in process parts.
- Conduct thorough final inspection on all finished parts before progressing on to the next step in the manufacturing process.
- Utilize precision measuring instruments such as dial indicators and micrometers to verify product specifications.
- Conduct quality audits to identify areas for improvement in production processes.
- Analyze data collected during inspections to identify trends and areas of concern.
- Track and report all non-conformances to the management and engineering teams.

Pay: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour
