Job Description:
- Responsible for coordinating and implementing ongoing in-service training for all staff including but not limited to infection control, fall prevention, and resident rights.
- Responsible for in-service programs that begins at orientation and continues throughout the duration of employment for all staff, and is responsible for the development of monthly inservice calendars.
- Responsible for maintaining a program of continuing education to keep abreast of new trends in nursing care and procedures.
Qualifications:
- EDUCATION: Graduation from an accredited, approved school of nursing. Current registration with the State Board of Nurse Examiners in Massachusetts. Previous teaching experience in the area of infection control and nursing education preferred.
- TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE: At least one year of nursing experience. Comprehensive knowledge of principles and methods involved in in-service instruction of nursing and auxiliary personnel, in demonstrating techniques and methods of patient care services and in instruction of patient's needs. Familiarity of policy, procedures, and regulations of a nursing home. Knowledge of current trends in the nursing field. Must be a self-starter and progressive in areas of education and infection control. Evaluating personnel during probationary period, observing ongoing nursing techniques, and maintaining in-service requirements as deemed necessary by the Director of Nursing.
