What are the responsibilities and job description for the Wedding and Event Coordinator position at Blake Events?

We’re looking for WEDDING COORDINATOR ASSISTANTS to join our high-end wedding and event planning team for the 2025 season. Experience preferred but not required.

*If you have wedding experience, you can train for a LEAD Planner position as well*

MUST COMMIT TO AT LEAST 2-4 WEDDINGS PER MONTH IN BUSY SEASON (MAY-OCT). Opportunity for events as needed in the off season.

Our wedding and event assistants are responsible for working with our wedding leads in the execution of weddings and private events. No pre-wedding work with clients is required in this position. Assistants are provided all day-of schedules, decor/styling sheets and floorplans for use on the event day and work alongside the event lead / team. This position works on the day-of the event only.

Paid hourly as a 1099-position.

minimum requirements:

On event days, the job requires being on your feet for the majority of the day with duties from setup, to coordination of events, to tear down. You can expect to work 4-10 hours plus travel. Physical stamina ability to life at least 30 lbs. is a must. Most events are within 90 minutes of York, PA.

Events fall on Fridays, Saturdays Sundays. We are open to assistants with only Sat./Sun. availability; Friday availability is a plus. While not a guarantee, we try to schedule our assistants only 1 day per weekend, and not every weekend during the month in busy season.

  • Individuals with an understanding of the hours/dedication of an event coordination career…. ie: you can’t really call off on an event day unless it’s a true emergency.
  • Past experience in event management, hospitality is a plus but not required.
