What are the responsibilities and job description for the Food and Beverage Manager position at Blake's Orchard, Inc.?
We’re looking for an experienced and motivated Food & Beverage Manager to join our retail leadership team! This role plays a vital part in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our food service areas while supporting the overall daily operations of our store.
While the food and beverage department is your primary focus, all managers are expected to support essential storewide functions—including till management, safe counting, opening and closing duties, and team communication across departments such as the front of store, café/self-serve, back produce, carport, and Applebarn.
Key Responsibilities:Operations & Leadership
- Oversee daily operations in all food and beverage areas
- Support store-wide processes including till opening/closing, cash management, and end-of-day reporting
- Communicate daily promotions, product updates, and key information to food staff and other managers
- Ensure a warm, welcoming customer experience; resolve guest concerns promptly and professionally
Food Safety & Standards
- Create, implement, and enforce all SOPs (standard operating procedures) for food prep, service, and sanitation
- Maintain cleaning logs and schedules; oversee cleanliness of all food service areas
- Monitor product rotation, inventory levels, and food storage practices
- Lead staff training in food safety, hygiene, and operating procedures
Inventory & Ordering
- Track food and supply inventory regularly
- Develop accurate ordering projections and manage supply orders for all food areas
- Calculate ingredient costs and assist in setting appropriate retail pricing
Staffing & Scheduling
- Work closely with the primary scheduler to advise on hiring and staffing needs
- Create daily break schedules and ensure compliance with labor and food service regulations
- Lead and supervise team members; address performance issues and provide coaching as needed
Menu & Product Development
- Assist with seasonal menu planning and product innovation
- Lead prep operations for major events, seasonal launches, and weekends
