About Blakesville Dairy Farm
Blakesville Dairy Farm operates with a milking herd of approximately 1100 Saanen and Alpine goats. Our primary goal is to humanely raise goats that produce the highest quality milk. We are also interested in raising the genetically strongest and healthiest herd of animals. We currently sell our milk wholesale. We also sell directly to our on-site farmstead creamery called Blakesville Creamery which opened in 2020, is rapidly expanding, and now produces goat cheese sold all across the country.
Job Description
All aspects of the milking parlor operation for the milking goat herd:
- Guide animals through parlor
- milk animals
- provide equipment handling and operations
- clean parlor
- Other responsibilities as needed
Hours
Full-time (35-50 hours/week).
Early morning and weekend work required.
Pay Rate
Hourly, based on experience. Potential pay range is $14 - $16/ hour.
Benefits include health insurance, retirement plan including match, and paid time off.
This position report directly to our Blakesville Farm General Manager Whitney Sakal.
