What are the responsibilities and job description for the Crew Leader in Training-Landscape Enhancement position at Bland Landscaping Company?
The Commercial Grounds Maintenance (CGM) Foreman in Training is a hands-on landscaping position assisting with
supervision of a year-round crew with commercial landscaping maintenance services, as well as learning to perform
specific planning, administrative, and regulatory functions.
Foreman in Training, F.I.T., Responsibilities Included but Not Limited To:
- Mowing, raking, digging, and weeding of commercial property landscapes.
- Load and unload heavy equipment and planting materials from trucks.
- Learn to schedule and manage daily workloads.
- Learn to plan, coordinate, and collect equipment and job materials daily.
- Attend and participate in crew and department general and safety meetings.
- Learn to prepare timesheets and other daily paperwork as the company requires.
- Safe driving of company-owned vehicles, trucks (with or without trailers), and transporting crew members.
- Maintain on-site relations and communications with clients, contractors and/or subcontractors.
- Learn to monitor and maintain irrigation controllers (changing times, replacing heads)
Training on safe operation and maintenance for the following landscaping equipment:
- Mowers - Push, walk behind and ride.
- Tillers, aerators, and slit seeders
- Edgers, string trimmers and chain saws
- Backpack blowers and sprayers.
- Hand tools such as shovels, picks, rakes and pruning tools.
- On occasion wheel tractors
Pay
- $16 - $18 hourly wage

Required Skills
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on a routine basis
- Ability to bend and stoop on a continual basis
- Ability to work outside in all weather conditions
- Ability to work around bees, poison ivy, pollen, thorns and other environmental risks
- Must wear work boots, Bland landscaping uniforms and present yourself in a clean and polite manner
- Must practice safety with chemicals and equipment
- Must wear company-provided eye and ear protection as required
- Must have good communication skills and ability to motivate others
- Must be willing to obtain NC pesticide applicator’s license
- Valid NC Driver’s license and good driving record preferred
- Must be able to pass a criminal background check
- Must comply with Bland’s policies and procedures
Salary : $16 - $18
