BLaST Academy Partial Hospitalization and Outpatient Programs
Treatment Team Leader/Mental Health Professional services are provided by staff holding a professional clinical license to provide mental health services in Pennsylvania. This role will meet the qualifications of a Mental Health Professional as defined in 55 PA codes 5210.3 and 5200.3 The Treatment Team Leader/Mental Health Professional will work positively and cooperatively with teachers, mental health workers, physicians, clients, families, and interagency representatives in the creation of a comprehensive individualized treatment plan for clients enrolled in the BLaST Academy Partial Hospitalization and Outpatient Programs. Treatment Team Leader/Mental Health Professionals will implement and review individual treatment plans coordinate service delivery, complete progress notes, participate in discharge planning, conduct individual sessions, and comply with managed care billing practices.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES. Other duties may be assigned.
The Treatment Team Leader/Mental Health Professional, as a member of the treatment team which includes a psychiatrist and other appropriate staff, will include the following content in the formulation of a comprehensive treatment plan:
- Be formulated to the extent possible, with the cooperation and consent of the patient, or a person acting on his behalf. The Treatment Team Leader/Mental Health Professional will encourage clients to become involved in their treatment planning process.
- Be based upon diagnostic evaluation which includes an examination of the medical, psychological, social, cultural, behavioral, familial, educational, vocational, and developmental aspects of the patient’s situation.
- Set forth treatment objectives and prescribe an integrated program of therapies, activities, experiences, and appropriate education designed to meet these objectives.
- The Treatment Team Leader/Mental Health Professional shall ensure that staff are trained and experienced in the use of the modalities proposed in the treatment plan and shall participate in the development, implementation, and review.
- The Treatment Team Leader/Mental Health Professional is responsible for the implementation and review of the individualized treatment plan, for the coordination of service delivery from other service providers, and for the review of progress notes and discharge summary.
- Be maintained and updated with signed daily notes, and be kept in the patient’s medical record or a form developed by the facility.
- Complete all initial treatment plans and treatment plan updates within the specified amount of time per program regulation.
- Documents and evaluates student progress based on progress monitoring techniques and observation.
- Completes bio-psychosocial histories for incoming clients. Monitors clients' adaptive/behavioral progress when appropriate.
- Consults with classroom teachers and other staff as needed.
- Maintains contact with parents of clients. Works to involve families in treatment planning and therapeutic activities.
- Adheres to the home school and district’s procedures for safety and discipline.
- Share data to support the preparation of educational records, IEP forms, classroom observation records, and classroom attendance data.
- Conducts or assists in FBAs and the development of positive behavior support plans.
- Implement de-escalation techniques and physical interventions, in accordance with safety care certification competencies, to maintain a safe and supportive learning environment
- Maintain a valid state driver’s license and ability to drive without advance notice.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Supervises clients when in an individual or group setting.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Treatment Team Leader/Mental Health Professional services are provided by staff holding a professional clinical license to provide mental health services in Pennsylvania. As such, this individual will meet the requirements of a Mental Health Professional as defined in 5210.3. The Treatment Team Leader/Mental Health Professional should have a broad-based ability to implement individualized therapeutic interventions.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
A clinical license in Pennsylvania to provide mental health services.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports and professional correspondence. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of staff, teachers, parents, and the general public.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES: Ability to apply knowledge of current research and theory for therapeutic benefit; ability to plan and implement individual, group therapy, and individual objectives that meet the needs and abilities of clients to whom assigned. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with clients, peers, parents, and community; ability to speak clearly and concisely in written or oral communication. Competent in the use of computer technology.

Salary : $50,000 - $55,000
