General Description
Under the direction of the Materials Manager, the Logistics Supervisor is responsible for overseeing Shipping and Receiving personnel and coordinating activities related to stockroom, receiving, shipping, and delivery of materials. This role ensures efficient scheduling, training, and communication to maintain timely shipments and sufficient inventory levels.

Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include: interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. General Description
Under the direction of the Materials Manager, the Logistics Supervisor is responsible for overseeing Shipping and Receiving personnel and coordinating activities related to stockroom, receiving, shipping, and delivery of materials. This role ensures efficient scheduling, training, and communication to maintain timely shipments and sufficient inventory levels.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervision : Supervise personnel and coordinate activities of stockroom, receiving, shipping, and delivery of materials.
- Scheduling: Schedule all manpower requirements for shipping, receiving, and the stockroom.
- Training : Develop procedures and train employees on stock transaction procedures and proper material handling.
- Loading and Delivery: Oversee the loading of trucks, setting up delivery routes, and unloading of material.
- Communication : Maintain communications with carriers, suppliers, warehouses, customs brokers, and others involved in the shipping and delivery of merchandise.
- Timely Shipments: Ensure that goods are shipped and delivered in a timely manner and that inventory levels are sufficiently maintained.
- Inventory Management : Study company's or customers' needs and manage and maintain inventory based on those needs.
- Transportation Oversight: Oversee the transportation of products from loading docks to warehouses or warehouses to customers.
- Product Pickup and Delivery : Arrange product pickups and deliveries with transportation companies and route drivers.
- Cost Analysis: Contact various transportation companies to get shipping quotes and conduct a cost analysis to assist upper management in selecting cost-efficient, reliable transportation options.
- Collaboration: Communicate with trucking companies, warehouse supervisors, customs brokers, sales forces, and customers to ensure timely packing, sending, and delivery of shipments.
- Budget Management: Provide input for the departmental budget and manage budgeted expenditures.
- Personnel Management : Hire, appraise, counsel, and discipline personnel as needed.
- All other duties as requested
- Proven experience in logistics or supply chain management (Minium 3 -5 years of experience).
- Strong leadership and supervisory skills.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
- Proficiency in logistics software and Microsoft Office Suite.
