What are the responsibilities and job description for the Estimating Intern position at Blattner Company?
A DAY IN THE LIFE
- This assists the estimating team in gathering, calculating and compiling data for use in bid proposal estimates for one or more discipline areas.
- Daily tasks include historical cost analysis, wage and labor research, tax application, cashflow analysis, development of business intelligence applications and profit and loss analysis.
- This position will provide you a first-hand opportunity to participate in how cost models are developed and margins are determined on a project and business segment level in an environment where communication and openness are valued, where collaboration with the business is not only encouraged but expected.
- Engages with Estimators, Project Managers, General Superintendents, Buyers and Engineers to assist in the understanding past and future costs. Assists in documenting creating business processes.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED
- Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Construction Management/Engineering, Business Management, Finance, Engineering or related degree.
- College level construction economics and/or business classes and workforce experience.
