Blattner is looking for Operators with proven experience performing the tasks of stripping, backfill and reclaim.
A DAY IN THE LIFE
MOTOR GRADER (BLADE)
- Operates equipment generally on uneven surfaces to maintain haul roads and assist in building new roads.
- Drives blade and moves levers to regulate height and angle of the blade, lower scarifier that loosens packed soil to permit grading, and tilt front wheels of grader when making sharp turns.
- Drives blade in successive passes over working areas usually observing reference stakes to the level surface to specified grade.
- Feels levers and sound of the engine to determine the depth of cut.
- Operates equipment safely in both forward and reverse directions in close quarters with other heavy equipment.
- May perform fine or rough grading.
- Greases, oils, and performs minor repairs on equipment.

Work Environment :
While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to outside weather conditions. The employee is frequently exposed to extreme cold and extreme heat. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and / or humid conditions; moving mechanical parts; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; risk of electrical shock and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
