Job description
The purpose of the Project Manager (PM) is to oversee work on jobs to which assigned while ensuring highest quality construction standards to meet defined cost and schedule parameters. In addition, the PM is responsible to ensure workflow, review project billing, and convene project related meetings as needed. The PM must continually collaborate and communicate with internal and external clients, work crews, and vendors at all levels to deliver top-tier results. Lastly, the PM will be responsible for other periodic work assigned by the Supervisor.
This is a safety sensitive position
Work Schedule. Typically, PMs work Monday through Friday 7:00AM – 5:00PM, averaging 43 – 47 hours weekly. Hours may be changed (increased or decreased) as required by project schedules and logistics availability at Supervisor discretion.
Weekly
- Deliver project updates during weekly Project Status Meetings
- Meet with Project Managing team as directed
- Attend manpower forecast meeting
- Work with Field Operations personnel to plan workforce to meet schedule
- Responsible to confirm claimed quantities for all jobs assigned
- Responsible to ensure material cost stay within budget
- Responsible for notifying purchasing department of what and when material is needed
- Review short interval plan for upcoming weeks and align workforce requests
- Conduct regular site visits and assess progress, problem solve and support field personnel
Monthly
- Create and organize project forecast meetings for assigned jobs
- Submit progress billings for all assigned jobs
- Review WIP schedule prior to monthly billings for assigned jobs
- Review aging (late payments) and reach out to GC and/or owner as needed
Quarterly
- Review department strategic goals and objectives
- Participate in PM training
Annually
- Participate in annual review
- Professional Development training
- Maintain knowledge of new trends, developments, technologies, materials, and best practices; apply knowledge to continually improve procedures and production efficiency
General
- Start-up and close-out of jobs
- Submittal review
- Review and understand executed contract
- Coordinate equipment and material procurement
- Responsible to provide job schedule of values
- Attend GC/Owner progress meetings and provide update and coordinate schedules with other team members
- Incorporate change orders into contracts
- Oversee assembly of operation maintenance data, drawings, and owner training
- Responsible to ensure control budgets are accurate and given timely to accounting
- Supports and participates in The Unified Group, trade and peer groups, through attendance at training events, communication via email and responding to other members
- Rapidly adapt to new information, changing conditions, or unexpected obstacles

- Project Manager reports to Blauch Brothers, Inc. Operations Manager
- Project Manager does not supervise/oversee workforce

Additional Requirements: Valid Virginia Driver’s License required along with an acceptable driving record as defined by our insurer
Experience: 2 years of project management. Supervisory, and/or management experience desired although not required. This is NOT an entry level position. Industry experience is a must.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Must be able to perform basic tasks consistent with an office environment including but not limited to sitting at a desk for long periods of time, bending, crouching or kneeling to access files from ground level to 4.5 feet above the ground, pushing/pulling of file drawers, reaching in all directions and working at a computer and/or telephone for prolonged periods of time. The following capabilities are required but not limited to: able to see for purposes of reading instructions, labels and other printed matter; ability to operate computer hardware and peripheral devices; able to hear and understand speech at normal levels in person and/or on the telephone; able to communicate verbally so others will be able to clearly understand a normal conversation in person and/or on the telephone.

Education and Experience Requirements:
