Financial Controller

Our client, a leading Commercial General Contractor are looking to add to their team a Financial Controller. The Controller is to be based out of the Dallas office and will be responsible for the overall accounting and finances of the business. This includes developing and implementing accounting policies and procedures, preparing financial statements, and ensuring compliance with all applicable laws and regulations. You will also work closely with other members of the management team to provide financial analysis and support for decision-making.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures.
• Manage and mentor the accounting team and provide support where necessary.
• Oversee financial operations including, but not limited to, AP/AR, Job Costing, Budgets, and Cash Flow Management
• Prepare financial statements and all supporting schedules (Balance Sheet, Income Statement, Cash Flow Statement, Work in Progress Statement)
• Prepare construction payment applications and other invoices as required by various contracts.
• Track costs and expenses for each construction project and ensure that costs are within budget.
• Prepare all necessary reconciliations and support documentation for external auditors.
• Comply with all regulations, including tax laws and securities laws.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business with a focus on Accounting practices required.
• CPA – Public accounting highly desirable.
• Minimum 5 years of accounting experience in construction, and 2 years of management experience.
• Strong understanding of construction industry accounting principles.
• Experience managing, mentoring, and training a team.
• Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
• Proficiency in the use of: MS Office Suite with advanced Excel, Procore, Sage 300, Textura, Corpay, Timberscan.

Salary

• $110,000 - $150,000
