Senior Project Manager – Data Center Construction

My client is a highly respected general contractor with a strong national presence, currently expanding its mission-critical infrastructure capabilities across Florida’s major metro markets. Known for delivering complex, high-performance projects, they specialize in the design and construction of data centers, mission-critical facilities, and technology-driven commercial developments. As demand for reliable digital infrastructure surges, they are actively seeking experienced Senior Project Managers to lead ground-up data center construction in Miami, Orlando, and Tampa.
Role Overview:
We are seeking a Senior Project Manager with direct, hands-on experience in data center construction, including hyperscale, colocation, and enterprise-level facilities. The ideal candidate will oversee all phases of mission-critical construction, ensuring precision, schedule adherence, and seamless coordination of MEP-intensive scopes. You will be the key point of contact for clients, engineers, and subcontractors, delivering high-quality data centers on time and within budget.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead ground-up data center construction projects from pre-construction through turnover
- Coordinate with owners, developers, and engineering teams to meet technical and operational requirements
- Manage project budgets, schedules, buyouts, and logistics for complex MEP systems and mission-critical equipment
- Supervise onsite teams, including superintendents, engineers, and subcontractors
- Maintain strict quality control, safety compliance (OSHA), and schedule performance
- Conduct regular progress meetings, reporting, and documentation to stakeholders
- Proactively identify project risks and implement corrective actions
- Ensure full adherence to commissioning, testing, and handover processes required in mission-critical environments
Ideal Candidate:
- Proven track record managing data center or mission-critical construction projects
- Deep knowledge of MEP systems, electrical infrastructure, UPS/generators, HVAC, and cooling systems
- 8 years of construction experience with at least 3 years in a senior PM capacity on data center projects
- Strong understanding of permitting, inspections, and regulatory standards specific to mission-critical builds
- Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills
- Proficient in scheduling software (P6, MS Project) and construction platforms (Procore, Bluebeam, etc.)
- OSHA 30 certification preferred
- Experience working in live/operational facilities a plus
