Role: This position will complete various reports and accounting procedures to prepare financial statements and other performance reports. This is considered an in-office position. The internship will be over the 2025 summer. The length of the internship is to be determined, and negotiable based on the candidate’s school schedule.
Major Duties And Responsibilities
Ensure accurate and timely daily, monthly, quarterly, and yearly reconciliations of various general ledgers (GL) and internal accounts.

Ability to proactively respond to members/staff and solve problems.
Physical Requirements
Ability to sit and stand; answer calls; operate computer; interact with internal staff and public on the phone; travel to designated offices; lift up to 20 lbs.

Major Duties And Responsibilities
Ensure accurate and timely daily, monthly, quarterly, and yearly reconciliations of various general ledgers (GL) and internal accounts.
- Post journal entries and participate in the monthly GL close process.
- Prepare and post off system loan reconciliations.
- Prepare regulatory reports in an accurate and timely manner.
- Balance and record various daily processes performed in other departments to accurately reflect expense and revenue recognition.
- Assist others in monthly reporting as necessary.
- Assist the department manager with financial audit preparation.
- Review invoices for completeness and authorization of payment.
- Determine expense status of all invoices and assign to appropriate GL accounts.
- Scan invoices into the accounts payable workflow and input for payment.
- Process, generate and mail payments to vendors, or create ACH payments as appropriate.
- Process employee reimbursements with the same level of review to ensure integrity in the payments.
- Maintain accurate and complete supporting documentation for all payments.
- Daily and monthly balancing; internal account fundings; and first mortgage sold settlements.
- Resolve accounting discrepancies and irregularities.
- Assist and support other Blaze employees in researching and resolving issues related to financial data or accounting records.
- Comply with applicable laws and regulations, including but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act, the Patriot Act, and the Office of Foreign Assets Control
- Regular and predictable attendance
- Perform other duties as assigned to support effective department operation
Experience/Education/Certifications/Licenses
- Bachelors degree in accounting preferred, will also consider a degree in progress.
- Microsoft Excel and Word
- Willingness to learn company and industry specific processes, procedures, and principles
- Develop finance related calculations to incorporate into spreadsheet procedures
- Problem solve, make sound decisions and exercise good judgment
- Organize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
