Position OverviewAs a Behavior Instructional Aide, you will work directly with students, teachers, and specialists to support students behavioral, social, and academic needs. This position is critical in fostering a productive and safe learning environment that promotes student growth and development.
Key Responsibilities- Assist students with behavioral interventions and instructional support under the guidance of a certified teacher or specialist.
- Implement behavior plans and provide support to help students achieve academic and social goals.
- Collaborate with school staff to monitor student progress and modify support strategies as needed.
- Document student behaviors and provide input for Individualized Education Plans (IEP) and behavior management strategies.
- Foster a positive learning atmosphere by supporting students in managing emotions and behaviors effectively.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or higher in a related field preferred.
- Experience: Prior experience working with students with special needs, particularly in a behavioral support role.
- Certification: Must meet Californias state and local requirements, including:
- Completion of a Behavior Instructional Aide Training Program or equivalent.
- TB test clearance and background check.
- CPR and First Aid certification (preferred).
- Proficiency in de-escalation techniques and crisis intervention is a plus.
