Job Responsibilities : As a Special Education Teacher, your typical duties will include :
- Developing and Implementing IEPs : Create and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) for students based on their unique learning needs and goals.
- Instructional Support : Provide specialized instruction in academic subjects, life skills, or behavioral support, tailored to the needs of students with disabilities.
- Collaboration with Staff : Work closely with general education teachers, specialists, and administrators to create an inclusive environment and support student success.
- Behavior Management : Utilize behavior management strategies to promote positive behavior and ensure a safe and supportive classroom environment.
- Assessment and Reporting : Conduct assessments and track student progress, providing reports to parents and administrators as required.
- Parent and Family Support : Communicate regularly with families, offering support and strategies to help them assist their childs development at home.
- Compliance with Regulations : Ensure all instructional activities comply with local, state, and federal laws and regulations regarding special education.
