Blazer Jobs is seeking a skilled and experienced Occupational Therapist (OT) for a part-time, extended school year (ESY) position in West Springfield, MA. This school-based role is designed to provide therapy services to students with special needs during the summer months, ensuring continued progress and support throughout the extended school year. Job Duties & Responsibilities:
As an OT in this ESY role, your responsibilities will include:
- Collaborating with the school team to create and implement individualized therapy plans for students during the extended school year.
- Providing direct therapy services to students to improve motor skills, sensory integration, fine motor abilities, and overall function.
- Working on developing functional daily living skills for students, such as dressing, feeding, and mobility.
- Monitoring student progress and documenting therapy sessions, ensuring accurate and detailed records are kept.
- Participating in meetings and providing feedback on students progress and any adjustments needed to therapy plans.
- Assisting in the creation and implementation of adaptations or accommodations to support students in the classroom.
- Collaborating with teachers, parents, and other professionals to ensure students' needs are being met in all aspects of their learning and development.
Requirements:
- Must be a licensed Occupational Therapist (OT) in the state of Massachusetts.
- Experience working with special education students and their families is highly preferred.
- Must meet all local and state regulations for occupational therapy practice.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, families, and school teams.
- Passionate about making a positive impact on students lives and educational experiences.
