We are seeking a Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) to provide specialized instruction and support for students with hearing impairments. This is a full-time maternity leave position requiring an educator with expertise in language development, communication strategies, and individualized learning plans.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct instruction and support to students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing
- Adapt curriculum and teaching strategies to meet individual student needs
- Collaborate with IEP teams, speech therapists, and school staff to support student learning
- Utilize assistive technology and communication methods as needed
- Advocate for inclusive learning environments and provide staff training as needed
Requirements:
- Delaware Teacher of Students who are Deaf/Hard of Hearing License
- Experience working with DHH students in educational settings
- Proficiency in ASL is a plus but not required
