Business Development Manager - Midwest
Hybrid Role: Both office-based and fieldwork, requires travel
The Business Development Manager is a key player in the growth and expansion within the textile rental sector. This role focuses on both organic growth and the development of new business opportunities. The manager will handle a portfolio of legacy accounts, build relationships with new prospects, and drive territory sales through cold calling, RFP execution, and market intelligence. Working closely with executive leadership, the Business Development Manager will help set and achieve both short-term and long-term sales objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Existing Customers (Organic Growth)
- Cultivate and nurture relationships with legacy customers within the textile rental industry to ensure continued satisfaction and repeat business.
- Identify new growth opportunities within existing accounts and work proactively to expand business.
- Prepare detailed quarterly and year-end reviews for each account, analyzing customer needs, identifying challenges, and proposing solutions for growth.
- Achieve year-over-year sales growth for your assigned territory, consistently meeting or exceeding targets.
Prospecting and Cold Calling
- Serve as the primary point of contact to build strong relationships with new prospects, introducing the company’s services and increasing brand awareness in the target market.
- Vet potential prospects and open new accounts by gathering data on their usage needs, product specifications, and market intelligence.
Administrative Tasks
- Manage weekly calendar appointments, ensuring all customer and prospect meetings are scheduled with clear agendas.
- Submit monthly expenses through Expensify, ensuring expenses are categorized and justified appropriately.
- Keep the internal CRM updated with key details regarding customer usage, specifications, and engagement.
- Regularly gather market data and competitive pricing information to stay ahead of industry trends.
- Maintain a clear territory roadmap and sales pipeline, ensuring continuous follow-up and proactive engagement with leads and prospects.
Marketing
- Update the CRM with up-to-date contact information for all territory contacts, including prospects, customers, and key influencers.
- Conduct product knowledge training for customers, ensuring they understand the latest offerings and how they can benefit from them.
- Develop and implement a territory-specific marketing plan, targeting key customer verticals and driving brand awareness and sales within the assigned region.
Qualifications & Skills
Experience:
- 3 years of experience in sales/account management, preferably within the textile rental or hospitality sectors.
- Proven track record of managing legacy accounts and driving sales growth.
- Strong experience in cold calling, prospecting, and developing new business.
- Knowledge of RFPs, pricing strategies, and customer relationship management.
- Familiarity with market and competitive analysis, particularly in pricing and market intelligence.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Sales, Marketing, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
Skills:
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a hybrid environment.
- Proficiency with CRM software (e.g., Salesforce, HEX) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Ability to effectively manage a pipeline and achieve sales goals.
- Willingness to travel within the assigned territory to meet clients and prospects.
