BLD Marketing, one of greater Pittsburgh’s fastest-growing, full-service marketing agencies, seeks qualified candidates for the position of social media specialist to join our award-winning team as our business expands. The successful candidate will possess:
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, public relations, communications, journalism, or a related profession.
- 1-2 years of professional experience that is focused on social media execution on behalf of brands. Agency experience is strongly preferred.
- Firm grasp of social media best practices – how to develop a program for B2C and B2B brands, the evolution/impact of individual social media channels and how they drive brand awareness/engagement, paid social media tactics, latest trends; experience with influencer programs is a plus.
- Adeptness at being directly involved in the execution of a social media strategy on a monthly, weekly, and daily basis.
- Experience operating on a variety of social media management platforms, both organic and paid.
- Experience with Hootsuite, Sprout Social, and other platforms is a huge plus.
- Strong project management skills and can successfully handle multiple initiatives and deadlines simultaneously.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a cohesive team to achieve optimal results.
The position will report to the social media senior manager and work closely with that role in managing day-to-day client responsibilities
Role:
· Day-to-day social media account management for clients & agency
· Interact with users on social media platforms on behalf of the brand on a day-to-day basis
Day-to-Day:
· Develop & execute social media programs for clients & agency
· Create & manage content calendars for clients
· Manage social media communities
· Collaborating with content individuals on each account to develop content, posts, post approvals, actual posting, monitoring, reporting
· Collaborate with paid media team on paid SM programs
Regular Meetings:
· Social media manager, daily
· Agency client teams – daily
· Clients - weekly
· Discipline directors – as needed
Strategy:
· Conduct SM audits, as needed to assess client social ecosystem
· Work with client team & social media manager to develop client SM plans
· Provide ideas to BLD client team & social media manager based on learnings with specific client experiences
· Develop influencer programs, identify appropriate influencers for each client’s program, while managing influencers on behalf of our clients
Ideation:
· Participate in agency client team ideation sessions
· Provide ideation for content calendars and post direction
· Consider ways to build, connect, grow current efforts with additional thinking
Performance Reporting:
· Develop and manage regular reporting for all clients, including agency
Best Practices/Trends:
· Apply best practices & communicate them to clients & agency team
· ID gaps in process & work with social media manager and others for refinement
· Be a continual learner, studying best practices and emerging social media trends
· Share industry trend reports and offer your points-of-view
· Utilize social listening tools such as Talkwalker and Hootsuite streams to monitor third-party opinions on the brand’s products and presence; and uncover opinions and points-of-view on industry trends and news
Platforms:
· Manage Hootsuite and other SM platforms
· Explore other platforms for SM and influencers and work with the social media manager to validate and share learnings
· Understanding of both organic and paid
Thought Leadership:
· Present at least quarterly at the BLDRS Happy Hour
· Author agency blogs, as desired
· Sit on BLD Marketing committee to ensure BLD social activation
Revenue Growth:
· Be a steward of the budget, ensuring scope integrity and fulfillment
· Advise agency client team and Dir of SM of budget concerns & opportunities to add value
New Business:
· Participate in new business presentations, as needed, especially for client introductions to team
